A couple things worry me a lot these days. The biggest thing is urgent: corruption in our government. Of course, this is not new. I’m sure that every generation has had to deal with this around the world. In some places, bribery is a way of life. When I got married in China in 1994, I had to pay a $100 bribe (American money) to get the last stamp on our documents saying we were married.
My feeling is that America is now pretty much run by mega millionaires–businesses, corporations and those who profit with them. Where are the leaders who stand against this? It’s almost impossible to fight now, as it seems the Supreme Court is now the most corrupt institutions of them all. With no honorable authority, we seemed doomed.
The other thing I worry about is pollution. I feel we have a duty to care for our garden called Earth, yet we are failing in our care. There are plenty of solutions, but with the government run by the oil companies et al, there is little change in sight.
